As my knees touched the ground and my hands grasped together, hesitation kicked in; you are doing this for nothing, God doesn’t have time for your requests, what you’re praying does not matter. Several times I feel my prayers do not touch the ears of our father. My inner self tells me:
He doesn’t care about every prayer I pray,
He doesn’t have time for my worries,
My prayer isn’t as important as others
Most of the time I pray for my posts before I write them. I ask God to let me speak to just one person who needs to hear my words. It’s become routine, making my prayers feel unheard and silly. But on the day I thought God was not listening, He blew me away in His power.
Last series, we worked on letting go. But the topic of letting go of the wound of the church was hard for me. But God worked through me and my husband to deliver an unbelievable message. But what happens when God does not answer our prayers?
We long for God to answer our prayers immediately, or at least within our timing. When silence greets us we question God and His existence. We follow the norm of believing lies about God. We don’t stop and recollect on His word. We refuse to believe God is in control, and that God is at work in our lives all the time. We are easy to go unfaithful instead of growing in our faith. Today, I want to share with you Lisa Appelo’s 6 truths about waiting on God to answer our prayer.
When we pray and get no result, don’t feel neglected. Let’s wait patiently on the Lord and remind yourself of God’s goodness. Remind yourself of the moments you knew God was real, and know He is working in the background. Remember Satan is prowling on our doubts. It’s okay to have them, as long as we don’t step away from our faith. Keep praying. God does care for every prayer prayed.
