Being a Mom Matters

Writing Challenge Day 28

As I was sitting on the couch watching one of my new favorite shows, Best Time Ever, I was thinking how I will never be known. I’m just a Mom. A Mom whose work will never be validated. Even my kids don’t appreciate what I try to do for them. The person who I really am is hidden behind my occupation of being Mom. My job title consists of changing diapers, washing dishes, and managing piles of laundry. I don’t get to announce my life long accomplishments because being a Mom takes up all my time.

As Moms we feel our job is meaningless at times. We try to do the best with what we have; making memorable moments for our kids to remember. Our heart breaks when we see tears falling down their face, and we try everything we can to make them happy.

Today I want to share this video with you. This video hit home with me due to our journey with working at home. For the first time in our life we have had to say no to buying things for the kids. But just remember being a Mom matters. Our jobs are important even if we don’t get a thank you!
